Château St. Gerlach

Château St. Gerlach - Hotel
Joseph Corneli Allée 1 6301 KK Houthem, Valkenburg aan de Geul Belgium

The St. Gerlach estate is situated in one of the most picturesque river valleys in the hilly Limburg country-side, the Geuldal. The historic buildings house a hotel, the à la carte restaurant 'Château St. Gerlach', an indoor swimming pool with sauna and steamroom, the KNEIPP S.P.A., a museum and a church. Interior designers and decorators renowned throughout Europe have given an original feel to the interiors of the hotel rooms, suites, restaurants and salons. Characteristic furniture, beautiful antiques, Venetian hand-woven fabrics and multi-printed silks give the interiors an inspiring and opulent atmosphere. The hotel/restaurant is surrounded by spacious baroque gardens and extensive parkland.
What could be more beautiful? The irresistibly picturesque Geul river, the marvellous Ingendael wildlife reserve, our own extensive parks, stylish baroque gardens, a farmhouse herb garden, a standard-tree fruit arboretum, and a rose garden - features that as such have given rise to the reputation of the Château St. Gerlach as the most famous country estate in the area of Maastricht. The history of the country estate dates back to the twelfth century. Since 1997, the Château has been the home of a hotel and restaurant that offer guests lavish hospitality in a historic setting - and situated in the midst of an extraordinarily beautiful landscape.
