La Porte Rouge - The Red Door Inn

XVIth Century Hotel Particulier, renovated with love, bringing together the past and modern comfort. In the heart of the town of Saintes in Charente Maritime on the edge of the walking streets, near the library, the museums, the court house and the cathedrale St Pierre which ornate the garden. All the rooms have private shower or bath and toilets, they are furnished with antic furniture and have a view on the aromatic garden, they are extremely quiet. We have a big library on the arts of the table featuring over 500 references on the subject. Dinner or lunch can be served with a reservation, and breakfast can be served in the garden weather permitting. We welcome you in a warm bilingual Franco-English atmosphere and we also speak Italian.

Farmer's market fresh produce, fish of the night, meats grown regionaly with the herbs from our garden and the spices collected during our travels, the recipes are inspired by one of our 500 cookbooks.

The price varies according to what the market provides and the kind of meal from 15 to 25 Euros for lunch and 18 to 35 for dinner.

Pinneau des Charentes aperitif included in the meal.
