The Hotel "Certosa di San Giacomo", is an ancient monastery with eighteenth century church surrounded by 42 hectares of green grass and flowery gardens.

The monastery, built between 1197 and 1209 at Lauro, a medieval small town in Avellino province, became soon a place of agricultural production very famous for the quality of its products, and a place of spiritual refuge. In 1620 it became an Abbey and in the following century The Certosa is transformed in a magnificent country residence. The "Certosa" is situated in a strategic position at a few hundred metres from the storical centre of Lauro.
