Il Guercino

Il Guercino - Hotel
Via Luigi Serra 7 40129 Bologna Italy

The Hotel lies in a private court in a typical bolognese style residential area. It has been completely renewed.
The hotel name *Il Guercino* comes from the XVII century painter G.F. Barbieri, who was called *Il Guercino* because of his marked squint. He contributed, with his original and self-taught painting, to the important historical-artisitc period belonging to I Carracci, Guido Reni, Domenichino, Francesco Albani, Alessandro Tiarini and to many other protagonists of classical revival of italian painting. It is not by chance that the hotel is in Via Luigi Serra *he was a painter, too*, in a quiet area, behind the railway station, whose streets recall the names of the distinguished mentioned artists.
