Trastevere is a very typical area in the Heart of Rome, just on the other side of the Tiber River with respect to the city center (the name means on the other side of Tiber).
It is the center of nightlife and bohemian's life.
You can find restaurants, pubs, discos (including Big Mama, one of the most famous clubs of the capital, one minute away from home), cinemas, theatres, but also fitness centers and swimming pools.
But you will find important monuments and churches to, like San Francesco A Ripa, aside from the B&B, where you will admire the extasy of Beata Ludovica Albertoni from the great Renaissance sculptor and architect Bernini, or Santa Cecilia, one minute walking, one of the most ancient churches of Rome, dedicated to one of the first martyrs (the villa of her family, a very noble one, can be visited underneath the church), or Santa Maria in Trastevere, less than 5 minutes walking, a masterpiece of bizantine art and one of the very first basiliques of Christianity.
And 2 or 3 minutes walking from the B&B you will also find the botanical gardens of Rome...
You can also go shopping in the very nice boutiques around, or in the 2 supermarkets very close to our B&B, or even wash or dry your clothes in the public laundry and internet and phone center underneath our B&B.
Moreover, in mid July in Trastevere takes place one week of popular celebrations of the spirit of modern romanity and the procession that starts the most typical and important party of Rome passes just underneath our windows!
