The old city center can easily be covered on foot: walking along the streets and squares, you can see the architectural sights from centuries and centuries of history. Pavia was defined in the past Centium Turrium for the presence of the ancient towers that conferred to the town the noble and cultured appearance,thanks also to the sixteenth century and renowned university.
Visit the Church of San Pietro in ciel d'Oro, typical example of romanica construction, theTheater Fraschini, the Basilica of San Michele, one of the monuments most important and one of the masterpieces of the romanica architecture, the Church of San Teodoro as well as the ancient University.
Visit also the the Cathedral, begun in 1488 and finished towards the end of XVI century, the Church of Santa Maria in Betlem, the Castle Visconteo, raised in 1360 and the Broletto palace.
