The hotel was originally the summer residence of the Earl Donini family and comprises of several buildings set in private woods and extensive landscaped gardens. Alla Posta Dei Donini was originally built in the 17th century and restored in the 18th century with paintings and frescoes of the famous Perugian artists Giuli and Appiani, which today still decorate the walls and ceilings of its many rooms. The two villas, Costanza and Laura, have been completely restored and are connected by a glass panelled walkway with a scenic garden.
