Hotel Restaurant Nieuw Minerva is situated in the citycenter of Leiden. Between the two shopping streets. Near lots of restaurants and cafees. The hotel situated on one of Leiden's many canals. It is located in six prestigious 16th-century canal houses. In 1830, one of these houses was inhabited by J.R. Thorbecke, the father of the Dutch constitution. Nieuw Minerva is decorated in a friendly, Old Dutch style with a homely atmosphere. A hotel in which both business traveler and recreational guest will feel at home. You can get something to eat in the restaurant, and the five conference rooms can be used for meetings, lectures, dinners, lunches, receptions, weddings and buffets. Hotel Nieuw Minerva is situated in the center of Leiden, near the Town Hall, the university, museums, shops and restaurants.
The hotel has some luxury rooms, which are decorated with special interiors. There is a romantic room 'The Rose room' with golden taps in the bathroom, 'The Classical-room' with a bed in which king Lodewijk Napoleon slept, an 'Art Deco' room with delftbleu decoration and a room in hunting style. The highlight is the 'bridalsuite' where you feel like you are on cloud nine as well in the bathtub as in the bed. This room is completely decorated by the whisses of brides and grooms. In the center of the room there is the bathtub and a big hemelbed where above the stars are glittering in the night. For newly married couples we have a special arrangement; at arrival you will find a bottle of champagne and in the morning you will have breakfast in your room.
